What a great race!!! If you are local, this is a "DON'T MISS" event. Kevin Crossman does a terrific job of bringing attention to each and every athlete. He knows almost everyone entered and their statistics. Spectators truly enjoy listening to the experience and commentary to this terrific Olympic Distance triathlon.
The course itself offers a unique two loop swim, a challenging bike course (which provides great roads and beautiful scenery), and an interesting run that combines trail with road. The finish is scenic, as you have a nice stretch thru the shaded pines of Lauderdale Park, then opens to a cheerful array of spectators and music! Another nice bonus is the addition of the kids' race. What a wonderful site to see smiling faces push their limits, as the adults line the course and cheer them on. Truly a FAMILY EVENT!!!
In the end, you are treated with the best post-race meal that can be supplied. Healthy and nutritous food is supplied...ok, and some cookies. The event finishes with tons of awards and a phenomenal raffle (thousands of dollars worth of merchandise).
