Great early season race.  Olympic distance has shorter swim and longer bike.

Notes:  Beautiful venue.  Very challenging bike course.  Well organized.

Location:  Starts at Rensselaer Lake and ends at Guilderland YMCA
Travel from Niskayuna, NY:   20 Minutes        11 Miles (South)

Notes:  Interesting venue for city event.  Short swim.  Very close.  
Great event for first-timers.  Spectator friendly.

Event:  Fronhofer Tool Olympic & Sprint Distance Triathlons  
Location:  Lake Lauderdale near Cambridge, NY
Travel from Niskayuna, NY:   1 Hour, 11 Minutes         52 Miles (North)

Notes:   Great venue.  Unique kids event.  For 2010, a sprint distance is being added, making it possible to participate in the olympic in the morning and the sprint in the afternoon.  Good food and a large raffle afterward.  This race can easily become a family event.  Race proceeds to charity.  
It's a gem - don't miss it!

Notes:   Scenic venue.  Good swim.  Challenging bike course.  Run course is around the lake.

Location:  Lake George at Lake George Beach State Park (Million Dollar Beach), NY
Travel from Niskayuna, NY:   1 Hour         51 Miles (North)

Notes:   Great venue.  Lots of parking.  Lots of food.  Well organized.  For many, this is the premier local event.  Challenging swim.  Fast but challenging bike course.
